A Century of Modinites

In 1922 a group of Jewish educators established Camp Modin in the pristine wilderness of Maine. Here they created a haven where children could grow as individuals, forge lifelong friendships and develop their identities as members of a nurturing community.

A century of Modin camping produces a lot of happy memories, many of which have been captured on film. We are proud to be able to share some of these with you. Alumni are encouraged to mail photos into us so we can scan them for our archives.

“Our young boy returned home with many new stories, a greater level of maturity, a wider respect for others, new sport skills and a huge sense of achievement. Thank you for enabling this wonderful growth.”

Alumni Enrollment Discount

A special offer for the children and grandchildren of Modinites

Since its inception in 1922 Camp Modin has pursued an ideal: to provide children with a nurturing environment in which they could learn, grow and develop lifelong friendships. These summers at Camp have become pivotal experiences in the lives of countless Modinites who in turn have helped to build a community that is a century strong. In celebration of our alumni and in honor of our 100+ years as the oldest continuously operating Jewish camp in the United States, we have established a special enrollment program. Starting for 2022, any newly enrolled child or grandchild of a Modinite will be entitled to a 10 percent discount off the published first-session tuition rates or a 20 percent discount off the published full season or second session tuition rates for as long as they attend camp. Some restrictions apply. Please feel free to contact us for further details.
